Bristol Temple Meads station is the major interchange within the south-west of England, offering direct services to most major cities within the UK rail network. Main lines travel through Cornwall to Penzance, passing through Weston-super-Mare, as well as along the south coast to Brighton via Bath.
First Great Western FGW is the main train operator in the Bristol region, running regular services out of London Paddington through much of west England including Newbury and Taunton, south Wales and Bristol as well as areas such as the Cotswolds and Malverns.
Wessex Trains offer numerous services between the south-west of England, the Midlands, south Wales, north Devon and the south Coast of England; however it does not provide direct routes to London or surrounding towns. Convenient routes are available from Weston-super-Mare to Cornwall in the south-west, Brighton in the east, or Worcester in the north, passing through Bath Spa, Bristol Parkway, and Gloucester.
