The port is situated approximately 15 miles to the north of Edinburgh, just across the Forth road bridge. It is easily reached by road via the A90 from Edinburgh or the M90 from Dunfermline. Follow the A985 west into Rosyth then follow the signs to the Ferry Port.
By rail, Edinburgh lies at the end of the London to Edinburgh east coast mainline. Frequent trains travel between Edinburgh and Rosyth, a journey of around 30 minutes.
Regular buses run between the ferry terminal and Dunfermline or Edinburgh, from where National Express operate coaches to most major English & Scottish towns.
