The Manchester & Merseyside region is easily accessible from all directions by road, rail, air and sea.

Manchester and Liverpool Airports are both within the Merseyside & Manchester region. Liverpool Airport is less than 10 miles south of the city of Liverpool, with budget and scheduled flights around the UK and Europe. Manchester Airport, a main hub for flights to the UK, is just over 10 miles to the south of Manchester with flights from around the world.

Liverpool Ferry Port, under 10 miles from central Liverpool, has regular ferry crossings to Dublin in the Republic of Ireland and Douglas in the Isle of Man. To travel to Merseyside and Manchester by ferry from mainland Europe, the east coast port of Hull is the closest, approximately 130 miles from Liverpool along the M62. Daily overnight crossings sail from Hull to both Belgium and Holland.

Manchester Piccadilly Station is the largest station in the north-west of England, providing excellent connections to the whole of the UK. The station at Manchester Airport provides regular services into Manchester Piccadilly every 15 to 20 mins as well as direct services to some of the surrounding towns and cities.

An excellent road network exists around the Merseyside & Manchester region. The city of Liverpool is close to the mouth of the River Mersey at the western end of the M62. The A565 north of Liverpool towards Southport, passes through Crosby and Formby. The A580 links to the M6 via St Helens and Newton Le Willows. The M62 and M60 link with Manchester to east Liverpool via Warrington on the A57. The M60 Manchester ring road surrounds Manchester and offers links to motorways in all directions, including a route to Chester, past Manchester Airport, along the M56.
