The Bournemouth to Bridport region is easily accessible from all directions by road, rail, air and sea. Three airports, located at Exeter, Bristol and Bournemouth are convenient for the area. Bournemouth Airport, Dorset, is approximately a seven mile (15 mins), drive along the A338, A31 and B3073, from the centre of Bournemouth providing air travel to European and longhaul international airports. Exeter International Airport is 81 miles, two hours drive from the centre of Bournemouth. Bristol International Airport is approximately 76 miles, two hours drive from central Bournemouth.
The region is within easy driving distance of two main passenger ferry ports. Poole Ferry Port, less than half an hours drive from Bournemouth, has passenger and freight routes to France, Guernsey and Jersey. Lymington Ferry Port is located 18 miles, 35 mins from Bournemouth on the edge of the New Forest, and has two marinas to cater for both ferry sailings to the Isle of Wight and private yachts. The port has good road, rail and coach links.
Mainline rail links from London Waterloo to Penzance pass through many of the towns within the region, stopping at train stations including Lymington, Bournemouth, Pooleand& Weymouth.
The Bournemouth to Bridport region has excellent road links to all of the UK. There are no motorways within the region; however the M27, which travels to Portsmouth, is accessible via the A31 East from Wimborne Minster.
