The Wallamba, Wallingat, Coolongolook and Wang Wauk rivers run into Wallis Lake, providing it with a 25km long and 9km wide shoreline. Beneath the bridge that links Forster and Tuncurry the emerald shallows provide a haven for dolphins on their way to and from the sea. Investigate a little deeper and discover the oyster industry that thrives at Wallis Lake. Renowned for their flavour, the oysters can be purchased straight from the oyster growers. Above the calm waters, Pelicans await anxiously at Cape Hawke Harbour the entrance of the lake, awaiting the local fishermen.
The lake boasts picnic areas and water access points scattered around its shores. Fed by the four rivers, Wallis Lake is a haven for fishing, boating, canoeing and waterskiing.
The little village of Coomba Park is a pleasant half-hour scenic drive around Wallis Lake.
