Pelicans conglomerate in the lakes waiting for anglers to pull in their bounty. A tourist stops on the way down the coast - awaiting the daily pelican feeding, a Sydneysider breathes a breath of fresh air, a child nags his father to take him to the nearby animal parks. This is just another day in perfect Tuggerah Lakes.

Just 90km north of Sydney are Tuggerah Lakes, not actually lakes but a system of large shallow coastal lagoons. The major lagoon is Tuggerah Lake, connected with two smaller lakes Budgewoi and Munmorah Lake. Popular tourist destination The Entrance is named after the tidal channel that connects the three lakes to the sea.

Wyrrabalong National Park borders the lakes and the sea, separating the nearby residential areas of Toukley and The Entrance. The national park preserves the last significant coastal rainforest on the Central Coast.
