Get away to inland Victoria where recreational fishing has been recognised and 5 Premier Lakes stocked with ready-to-catch fish.
In order to boost recreational fishing and tourism opportunities the lakes receive large rainbow trout (1 kg) at least 4 times a year. Regular Family Fishing Events are be held to promote fishing as a family activity.
The next Free Family Fishing Festival will be held at Lake Hyland Sunday May 2 2010. There will be fully assisted and instructed workshops throughout the day covering fish handling, junior code of conduct, fishing, knots and rigs workshops and a casting clinic.
The whole family can be entertained with chef cooking demonstrations, face painting, jumping castle, sea weed sally with her live marine touch tank and much more. All activities are free once registered.
No fishing licence is required by registered participants on the day and all equipment is supplied. Workshop spaces are limited, pre-registration is encouraged.
