The Hook and Hatchet is a historic English country pub which still aims to serve the local community as it has done for hundreds of years. Situated on the North Downs and just off the Pilgrims` Way it is surrounded by working upland farms and equestrian locations, including racing stables.
The Woodland Trust own and manage an area of 560 acres of walking country next door, maps and parking are available free at the pub. The pub also has hitching rails for six horses. They are reached from all directions only by single track roads with passing spaces, coaches can only access from A249.
Although they are in an isolated location the pub is actually only a few miles from M2 and M20 Motorways and about 15 minutes from Leeds Castle, 20 minutes from Dickens World. They welcome groups and parties and you can even rent the whole pub, together with their 2 acres of land, for the day or evening.
