    Maldon was the first town to be declared 'notable' by the National Trust in 1966 and was awarded "the most intact heritage streetscape'in 2006. Maldon is 140km north-west of Melbourne via the Calder and Pyrenees Highways, about one and a half hours drive. The town is crowded with shops, hotels and cafes that are over 120 years old.
