The mud brick cellar door is situated in 70 acres of bush, set in mature box ironbark woodland and overlooks vineyards and surrounding paddocks toward Lake Cairn Curran, taking in the surrounding vistas of Mt Tarrengower and Gough's Range.
Five minutes from Newstead and ten from Maldon and not far from Castlemaine and Daylesford, the access is excellent. The view from the veranda shows sheep quietly grazing in the distance, joined by small flocks of galahs, corellas and lorikeets, while welcome swallows make themselves at home around the building.
During vintage the winemaking side of things can become quite hectic, but all around is a tranquil delight. Join us for a glass of wine on the veranda or coffee made freshly with Castlemaine's own Coffee Basics coffee.
