Hunter Valley Steamfest, Australia's premier festival all about steam is an annual event held in Maitland on the 28th to 29th April.

The program features steam train excursions,'tin hare' vintage diesel excursions, market stalls, street steam, miniature locos, children's entertainment, Powerhouse Museum displays and much more.

This year a number of specialty trips will join the program including a Boutique Beer Lunch Train, Kids Party Train, CityRail Parallel Photographers Runs and the ever popular Barrington Bullet will return to the Sunday morning.

Dont miss the Steamfest markets featuring over 120 stalls, selling everything from arts and crafts to fresh local produce and everything in-between. Theres no need to bring lunch as the food court will cater for all tastes.

Special Features: The Great Train Race, featuring Steam Locomotives and historic Tiger Moth Aeroplane. Official Steamfest Rally Ground featuring traction and portable engines, mini train rides, steam related talks and Powerhouse Museum display. Maitland Show 'n' Shine with over 700 vintage and veteran bikes and cars (Sunday only). Market Stalls, Family and Kids Activities and Entertainment, Stars Behind Bars - Outdoor Cinema will be screening two train themed movies at Maitland Gaol.
