The hugely popular Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a large grassy amphitheatre. The main feature is the impressive 'sound shell' roof that projects sound.

Being Melbourne's premier music venue, it has hosted everything from Jack Johnson to Pearl Jam and the New Zealand opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Come Christmas and it becomes the place to listen to Carols by Candlelight and earlier in the year the free summertime concert series.
