The Old Wool store Apartment Hotel is located close to Hobart's historic waterfront, on land originally known as Wapping and later referred to as Sullivan's Cove.
Roberts Ltd, an agricultural company, operated the wool and grain store. Wool was brought from all over Tasmania to be pressed and then shipped from Hobart's bustling port.
The top floor was used for wool treatment and therefore required the natural light offered by the striking saw-tooth roof line. This style of roofing allowed the maximum amount of light into the room for the weaver's benefit.
Specialising in fine Tasmanian beer and wine, where the cooler climate varieties excel, the Baaa Bar's blend of old world and contemporary surround is the ideal place to sit back and enjoy a relaxing drink at the end of the day. We have a cocktail list and a wide range of other beers and soft drinks available.
