The Molonglo Gorge Recreation Area is situated on a picturesque section of the Molonglo River at the western end of the gorge.
The park offers a children's playground, toilets, tap water, wood fire pits (BYO firewood), gas barbeques, picnic tables and a large stone shelter.
Conveniently located off the Sutton Road, it is only 15 minutes from Canberra's city centre and 10 minutes from Queanbeyan.

- From the recreation area, a walking trail follows the river to a small grassed picnic area called Blue Tiles.
