Part of the Hastings District Water Supply Augmentation Scheme, the 10,000 million litre award-winning Cowarra Dam was completed in 2001.

Along with cultural displays free to the public from 9am to 5pm daily, the dam also offers picnic tables, gas BBQs, under-cover seating and toilet facilities.

The catchment area covers 110 hectares while the dam, when full, covers a surface area of 70 hectares.

Getting There
Follow the Oxley Highway toward Wauchope, turning left into King Creek Road. Follow the signs, turning left into Sarahs Crescent and right onto Forest Oak Road to the dam.
