Tamban Forest Drive is a scenic round trip from Kempsey that explores three state forests.
Tamban, Ingalba and Collombatti to the north west of town, are all included with Cedar Park and the Collombatti lookout being points of interest along the way.
Cedar Park also features a 20min walk through a moist hardwood forest. Expect to see red cedars, massed staghorns, elkhorns, tree ferns and orchids festooning the upper parts of the forest trees.
Follow the Pacific Highway, north for 5kms then the Frederickton-Collombatti Road for a further 10km until the forest boundary is reached.
Inside the forest, blue and white route markers are dotted along the drive. Rejoin the Armidale Road and return to Kempsey. The round trip is 90km.
