This scenic 80 km drive leaves the Lismore Visitor Information Centre. Continue down Molesworth Street until the third roundabout where you will turn left over Fawcett's Bridge. Turn right at the next roundabout and then left at the next into Terania Street. Follow this road until the Dunoon Road turnoff, going under the railway bridge. Take this road and go past the showground on your right and follow the signs to The Channon.

Lismore to The Chanoon Continuing along Dunnon Road you will pass through the small villages of Tullera and Modanville. After Modanville turn left into The Channon Road where you will pass Macadamia farms and a Lemon Myrtle farm.

The Channon As you enter into The Channon village you will pass Coronation park on your left, the site of The Channon craft markets, the largest craft market in Northern NSW. They are held every second Sunday of the month. Turn right into Mills road passing The Channon General Store, selling everything from cold beer to work boots. Turn left, following the brown National parks sign towards Protester Falls.

Protester Falls Protester Falls (part of the Nightcap National Park) is a 14km drive from The Channon along Terania Creek Road. It was renamed after the significant protest against logging that was held at Nightcap in 1979. The falls themselves are an easy 1.4km walk. Returning back to The Channon, turn right towards The Channon Tavern. Proceed onto Koonorigan Road, just after the bridge. This scenic stretch will take you to Nimbin Road.

Koonorigan Road Follow this narrow, steep and winding road past Jacarandas and magnificent rolling hills. a myriad of produce is grown here, including Macadamias, coffee, dairy farms, avocadoes and stone fruit orchards. Continue along the road following the brown route 32 signs. Turn right at the end onto Nimbin Road.

Nimbin Rocks As you enter Nimbi, lock out for the spectacular Nimbin Rocks on your left. The rocks have great cultural significance for the local Bundjalung people.

Nimbin (Djanbung Gardens) Throughout the main street of Nimbin you can admire plenty of local artwork, in galleries and on shop fronts murals, a remnant of the 1973 Aquarius Festival. Check out the local history at the Nimbin Museum, browse the funky shops or relax in a cosy cafe. Travel down Cullen Street and over the bridge turning right into the Nimbin Candle Factory.

Rainbow Power Company Designed as a working demonstration of solar, wind and water energy sources, the Rainbow Power company is one of the largest and most experienced renewable energy companies in Australia. Based in Nimbin the company's headquarters are unique in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Nimbin Candle Factory Nimbin Candles are located in the Old Nimbin Butter Factory. They take great pride in supplying a non-toxic smokeless, traditionally made candles to the world. All their candles are hand crafted using the traditional method of dipping the wicks continuously to produce a perfect candle every time.

Lillian Rock Stop in and enjoy the local art and scrumptious food at the Blue Knob Hall Cafe and Gallery. Turn left onto the Murwillumbah Road and head through Uki.

Uki At Clarrie Hall Dam, 3.5km out of Uki, you can enjoy bird watching, bushwalking or a picnic. Stop at the village of Uki and have a look at the galleries, enjoy a coffee or a drink at the pub. Continue out of Uki for 4km to the Mt Warning turn off.

Mt Warning National Park The largest extinct sheild volcano in the Southern Hemisphere. Mt Warning is also the spot where the first rays of sunlight hit the Australian mainland every dawn. Follow the signs from here towards Murwillumbah as the Mt Warning turn off is only 10km from the town.

Murwillumbah Entering Murwillumbah you will be following the Tweed River. Follow the signs down Wollumbin Street towards Tweed Heads. This will take you to the M1 which you follow through to Tweed Heads.
