Skyhouse Retreat is an inspirational Denmark holiday home situated among ancient karri trees, high on Weedon Hill, Denmark, Western Australia.

The interior of the Skyhouse is craftsman built with many unexpected delights. Light and colour to stimulate and caress are a feature in every room of the Skyhouse. With decks adjoining every room, the sounds, smells and sights of the surrounding forest are always only a few steps away. Only floor to ceiling walls of glass separate you from nature's ever changing panorama.

The unique interior features a full kitchen with microwave, king and queen bed, TV/DVD, sound system with iPod dock and gas BBQ. Fully equipped with electric blankets, oil column heaters, slow combustion fire and washing machine. All linen and towels provided.

With no near neighbours, you might be deep in the wilderness and yet, you are just 3km's from the town centre. Treat yourself to a holiday experience that we know will be truly uplifting for you soul.

Further Information: You can guarantee the only sounds you will hear will be birdsongs, the wind in the trees, and if it's still... the waves crashing on Ocean Beach, just 1 kilometre away across the inlet. And yet, you are just three kilometres from the town centre - Shops, Galleries, Cafe's etc. Birdlife abounds on Weedon Hill. From the tiny speckled Pardelotes that dig burrows in the ground to live in, to the majestic Sea Ospreys whose enormous nests are over a metre across. This you can all see. At night the forests abounds with all manner of little furry critters and whooping owls. The local possums may well climb up the poles of the house and visit at your kitchen door (fruit only please!)
Awards: some "adventures." The Skyhouse overlooks one of Denmark's best kept secrets. 'The Magic Circle' is a cluster of giant granite boulders topping the crown of Weedon Hill. Walk to the East it will take you along the Wilson Inlet through bushland towards the Denmark River and Town. To the West, it will lead you along the Inlet for several kilometres then up Mount Hallowell for some fantastic vistas and to Lights Beach. Bibbulmun Track nearby. For a more relaxing outing, just stroll down to the bottom of the hill to Honeymoon Cove; canoeing, boating or just sitting under the paperbark trees watching the waterbirds. Further afield, a short seven kilometre drive will take you to Ocean Beach for great swimming, surfing and fishing.

The skyhouse is more like a treehouse of 3 levels made with recycled timber with lots of glass walls. Every room has a stunning view of the surrounding bushland. Staying there we felt like a modern day, yuppie version of Tarzan and Jane ... Read More (Date of experience: Dec, 2010 )
