Recently sold and no longer open to the general public, Kameruka Estate covers 5000 acres of undulating countryside. Distinctly British, the Walker Brothers attempted to replicate the lifestyle of the eighteenth-century British gentry. The Holy Trinity Church built in 1869 adjoins the estate and is apparently still accessible to the public. A cemetery can be found across the paddock behind the church. There is also a war memorial to the local people who died in the World Wars near the church.
The Estate may now be closed to the public but a DVD called Back to Kameruka, commemorates the Open Day held on Sunday 31st September, 2007, when some 3,000 people celebrated past associations and said farewell to the Estate's 150 year era in the one family. Running to 30 minutes, by permission of former owner Mr. Frank Foster, the DVD includes photographs from Kameruka's archives and a narration on its history. It can be ordered by ringing on 0244 540524.
