Australia's most easterly lighthouse is also Australia's most powerful one. The beam intensity is equivalent to 2 200 000 candles making it not only one of Australia's most powerful lighthouse, but one of the southern hemisphere's.

Constructed in 1901 and standing at 22 metres high, the Cape Byron Lighthouse receives a staggering 500,000 visitors a year, who venture up for fantastic ocean views and whale watching.
