Built in 1888, Edenvale Homestead contains 18 rooms and 2 cellars. The complex was constructed using locally fired clay bricks and consisted of a number of buildings which were considered essential to European settlement. These included a place of worship, the cemetery, a school, judicial and local government institutions, as well as some of the earliest private dwellings. To promote the history of the house, the Murray Tourist Centre has set about restoring period furniture of the 1880s in Edenvale. The dining room has been furnished with period furniture and is used for community purposes.

Edenvale Homestead is now home to a number of community groups, including the Heritage Tearooms, the Murray Arts and Crafts, Roger May Machinery Museum and the Pinjarra Patchwork & Quilters Group.
