Coolamon Scenic Drive is one of the most scenic routes in the Byron Shire - stunning vistas on one side and lush hinterland on the other.
The spectacular view over Byron Bay, north to the Tweed Coast and south to Ballina is arguably one of the finest you'll see in the area. Two lookouts are located along the drive, one where Coolamon Scenic Drive meets the Pacific Highway at St Helena and the other approx 7km along the drive.
Along the way you'll spot the famous Coorabell Hall, which regularly holds cultural, dance and music events - from funky tunes to spiritual awakenings & everything between. The hall has been a live music venue for over 20 years.
Coolamon Scenic Drive takes you to Mullumbimby and beyond back to meet the Pacific Motorway at Ocean Shores. Also accessible along this road is the charming village of Federal, just follow the signposts.
If you have a bit of time to spare, follow the signs to the popular Crystal Castle - an enchanting getaway reflective of the spirituality and element of escapism that the area is famous for.
Driving time: approximately 30 minutes.
