One of Australia's longest running and largest ocean swims is held on the second Sunday in February at Manly. Founded by the Cole family in 1983, this iconic event offers a challenge for people to swim a reasonable distance through the surf.
Held in conjunction with the Manly Life Saving Club, both one kilometre and two kilometre courses commence from Shelley Beach and finish at Manly Beach with category winners receiving the famous hand painted plates. The Cole Classic raises funds over $150,000 for charity.
