Mt Lindesay is a magnificent multi-tiered mountain on the Summerland Way, which marks the crossing from Queensland into Northern NSW.
One of several peaks in the McPherson Range, the uniquely shaped landmark is approximately 200km from Brisbane.
At the border crossing there is a memorial to James Westray, a young Englishman who lost his life in these mountains attempting to bring help to survivors of 1937's Stinson Air Crash.
Covered in a dense rainforest, the distinctive multi-tiered peak is similar in appearance to a wedding cake.
To get to the top requires some very steep rock climbing.
