This year's festival will include a Folk Music Concert from 3.30 to 7.30pm on Saturday, featuring 4 top line groups/musicians. Admission on Saturday includes the concert. The concert will be like no other Folk Concert with a back drop of steam machines ticking quietly away in the background.
Musicians performing for the inaugural SteamFest Folk Night are:-
Ian Paulin - one of Tasmanias most consistent writers of original songs. Ian really knows how to work a crowd and entice everyone into the tales he weaves.
Marjorie and Steve Gadd are well known to the Folk and Fiddle music scenes in Hobart and Cygnet. They are founding members of the Heritage Fiddle Ensemble which was formed specifically to reinvigorate the music scene with traditional and contemporary Tasmanian Music.
The Pot Belly Strings - a Hobart trio who will bring their own brand of stripped back rural pop/folk. Celtic in some places, country/blush in others, Julianne's songs have some soulful elements to them.
Twice Bitten - Annie Parsell and Mat Wooley have been playing locally, interstate and overseas since they formed in 2009. Their music is defined by harmonies and folk/country style.
