Come along to the multi-award winning Loxton Historical Village as Loxton celebrates South Australian History week. The Village brings back memories of an era past and demonstrates the way of life for the early Riverland settlers. There are over 30 fully furnished buildings, including a pine slab shearing shed and stable, a barn made of Mallee stumps and thousands of pieces of equipment and machinery used in everyday life.
Activities during History Week in Loxton are wide and varied:-
21-29 May - Visit the historic display of Loxton and surrounding communities in the Loxton Library during normal Library opening hours.
23rd May - Join the informative guided tour plus refreshment at The Pines Historical House and Garden from 2pm to 4pm. Bookings for groups required.
27 May - The Loxton Historical Village comes to town from 10am to 3pm with the yummy pie cart and an exciting pioneer working display.
