Bordering Blaenau Ffestiniog and overlooking the Moelwyn Mountains, the tiny village of Rhiwbryfdir is well placed for fantastic scenery Originally the19th Century slate quarrying capital of the UK, Blaenau is set in an elevated, natural bowl amidst this mountainous region It offers a good range of amenities including a variety of shops, pubs and tourist attractions Close by is the Llechwedd Slate Cavern - a former quarry – and the magnificent hydroelectric power station There is also the famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway, which provides relaxing trips through scenic countryside A dry ski slope gives the more adventurous a chance to ski all year round and there are numerous fishing and golfing facilities With a number of excellent walks, cycling trails and lovely sandy beaches, this area is full of exciting things to do This stone-built terraced cottage is an attractive 19th Century property in the small village of Rhiwbryfdir – a mere 10 minute walk from Blaenau Ffestiniog It has a cosy sitting room with wood-burning stove, two bedrooms with stunning mountain views and a well-equipped kitchen There are a number of footpaths close to the property which lead into the Moelwyn Mountains, whilst others nearby offer trails around the Manod Mawr and Bach Mountains, as well as the lovely hidden Manod Lake .
