Docklands Stadium (Also known by it's sponsered name of Etihad Stadium), the Docklands' first major development, is a $460 million, high-tech, multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue.
It was one of Australia's most eagerly anticipated projects since construction began in 1997. This world-class venue, which opened in March 2000, is a grand modern brother to Melbourne's pre-eminent sporting facility, the MCG.
The venue endeavours to satisfy the appetite of Victoria's sports and events-obsessed population, hosting national sports games, headline entertainment acts, and premier events.
