Known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, Betws-y-Coed is North Wales' most popular inland resort Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain scenery, this area is especially popular amongst walkers As the site where the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, Betws-y-Coed is within easy walking distance of numerous cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges The most famous of these is the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River enters a spectacular chasm The village itself boasts a selection of shops, pubs and places to eat as well as a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre This small town is also home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley This detached, stone-built cottage is located in the pretty village of Penmachno in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park With comfortable, well-equipped accommodation and sleeping space for up to six people, this is a diverse property that makes an ideal base for a holiday at any time of year With a coal fired stove in the dining room and a wood burning stove in the comfortable lounge, this would make a wonderful winter hideaway Alternatively, the property also makes an excellent place for a summer vacation with a grassed children's playground 100 yards along the lane .
