Live History's Louisa's Walk

Louisa's Walk tells the story of an Irish woman, convicted for stealing a loaf of bread and transported to Van Diemens Land in the 1840's.

Walk with the actors, down through the beautiful Cascade Gardens and into the infamous Cascades Female Factory. Once inside those towering walls, daily life in the prison is depicted Yard by Yard, scene by scene. The final scene in the Nursery Yard is heartbreaking.

A quick time travel back into the 21st century brings you back to an Interval where your questions are invited. Then you meet Louisa outside again where her time in the prison concludes and her post Female Factory life begins.

There are photo opportunities on the walk back to the top of the Cascades and the actors explain interesting historical features. As Louisa's Walk concludes, you meet the two actors out of character, drink a toast to the women and get to know one another. Postcards and products from "Louisa's Larder" are available to buy.
