The Tops Organic Retreat offers a unique country experience for those special times away. Set on 2000 acres close to Barrington Tops National Park we have 4 family farm stay cottages and 4 secluded loft cabins with king spas fed by our own spring waters.
The cottages have 2 bedrooms, a comfy lounge and balconies by the creek. The secluded loft cabins are in a private setting by the creek and rainforest, with polished timber floors, loft designer bedroom, comfy lounge and a large balcony to relax and watch the wildlife go by. Both cottages and cabins have kitchens for guests who wish to self cater.
We serve organic, wine, beer or juices. Our organic restaurant is open for breakfast daily, and dinner is served Tuesday - Saturday. We were recently voted in the Top Weekends Away 2011

- Further Information
- We have farm animals for guests of all ages to enjoy. Search for eggs, feed the chickens, ducks and geese. Pet the guinea pigs and rabbits. Enjoy the alpacas and goats ... the goats might go for a walk with you. There are also horses and cows to feed. There is a trampoline and it is fun to have a paddle on the lily pond. The salt water swimming pool is always popular after a bush walk or game of tennis on our all weather flood lit court. Balls and racquets supplied. In the evening sitting on the balcony watch the wildlife come out to play down by the creeks. The paddymelons, and wallabies enjoy the cool of the evening for feeding. Listen to the forest noises and marvel at the amazing star lit sky. Walks on the property can be long or short, maps are supplied. While walking quietly guests have seen lyre birds, koalas, brush turkeys, wallabies and many other species. Evidence has been seen of the nocturnal wombat and other creatures of the night.
- Things to do
- There is lots to do with 20 km of fresh water creeks and rivers and 50 km of beautiful walks with some great 4WD tracks for the adventurous (weather permitting). Horse riding only $50 for 2hrs is just 10 minutes down the road, as is kayaking for all grades. Ask John for a tour of the property; a drive down to the Dilgry River is always popular and a great place to end the property tour, sitting under the cascading waterfalls and cooling off. The Barrington Tops World Heritage National Park is just a stones throw away, here there are walks through the Antartic Beech Forests to be enjoyed, fishing, great lookouts watch out for brumbies and other rare species that can be spotted.. Many guests enjoy the total relaxation that is offered here at The Tops, sitting on the balcony with a glass of organic wine or beer, listening to the sounds of the bell birds, the laugh of the kookaburra, and recharging the senses and becoming at one with nature.
