Joyce Hatchett is genuinely a working artist. Arriving in Western Australia as a 7 year old from her native Scotland, Joyce already had paint in her veins, and by 11, she was taking lessons in oil painting.
Currently Joyce is running her own studio/working gallery in Wellington Mill in the Ferguson Valley and working extremely hard on a new series "Amidst the Bush". Hard work and a willingness to commit her artistic skills to any valuable purpose are also defining attributes of this artist.
Joyce sees her art as a means to engage with her community, so it is often a way that she reaches out. Regular donations of Hatchett artwork find their way onto auction blocks or charity walls, and progress is made for a raft of charitable projects across the South West.
