Cataract Gorge is one of the Launceston region's premier attractions. Located just 2mins drive (or 15mins walk) from the city CBD, The Gorge is a stunning reserve offering numerous walking trails, a chairlift, kiosk, restaurant and swimming pool.
The Basin Chairlift covers 457m, with the central span of 307m believed to be the longest single chairlift span in the world. The slow speed of the chairlift allows plenty of time to enjoy the fabulous views, so be sure to take your camera along.
