A Day on the Beach is a celebration of Australia Day, the Australian lifestyle and all facets that define our culture. The event is continuing to grow in popularity. 2011 saw more than 10,000 people attend, enjoying fantastic weather and an action packed day with over 2,000 event participants. There will be loads of free sporting activities, live music, the "Talk to Chemmart" sandcastle competition, two Big Aussie BBQ's, double decker buses, sailing, swimming, the Lady Nelson under sail and the pristine backdrop of Kingston Beach. The day involves sports clubs, community groups and not for profit organisations who set up their services or sport on Kingston Beach, giving kids and parents a chance to experience sports and activities that they perhaps haven't before. The day enables community and sports groups to, at no charge (except set up costs) put themselves on display, drive memberships, registrations and interest for the coming year. As well as being a fantastic day out A Day on the Beach is a viable way for community and sport groups to become involved with the local community and work together to gain valuable exposure and future registrations.
