Details

Local Area: Katoomba is easily the best place to get the full experience of the Blue Mountains. Katoomba has something for everyone: restaurants, trendy cafes, shopping, antiques and collectables, not to mention that it is surrounded by natural beauty. It's home to one of Australia's icons of nature, the Three Sisters (viewed from Echo Point). Many bushwalks start from this point, including the Three Sisters Walk and Giant Stairway. You can even enjoy a ride on the scenic skyway if your not one for bushwalking. In town, you'll find an array of boutique and local fashion, as well as cosy dining experiences at all levels. The middle of the year sees a special time with Yulefest, which is the Blue Mountains community's own Christmas celebrations.

I stayed at Katoomba Mountain Lodge for 3 nights and it was worth it. We arrived late, approximately close to midnight but the owner Ron was still there at the train station to pick us up although it was a barely 10min walk to the hostel ... Read More
