The Taylor family established their vineyard and winery at Auburn in the Clare Valley in 1969.
The site was carefully chosen for the red brown loam over limestone soils and the cool climate of the Clare Valley.
The initial planting consisted of 178 hectares of which 149 hectares were Cabernet Sauvignon.
Today the vineyard has grown to 320 hectares, with the addition of three white varieties - Riesling, Chardonnay and Crouchen - and two red varieties - Shiraz and Pinot Noir.
