Willis's Walkabouts is northern Australia's most experienced bushwalking tour operator, satisfying clients since 1986. Trade the noise of the city for the peace and tranquillity of the bush in Kakadu, Kimberley and the Red Centre of the Northern Territory.

Choose from a number of scheduled trips where you carry a backpack anywhere from 3 days to 6 weeks! Advanced bookings are essential. People who try and book at the last minute not only miss the advance purchase discounts, but they often miss out completely.

Traditional Aboriginal guides accompany some trips. No one else can give you the chance to trek for a week or more with an Aboriginal guide. Willis's are the only operator licensed to run more than four overnight hiking trips per year in Kakadu, as well as being the only one who can take you to Jim Jim and Twin Falls in the Wet.

We'll provide free transport between Darwin and Kununurra for anyone who wants to join the drive.

I chose Willis's Walkabout in order to visit in 2007 the remote and isolated Drysdale River National Park, in the Kimberley, because only Willis's' walkabout sells this trip, and certainly I was not disappointed! The trip, completely on foot except for the arrival and the departure in the National Park, took place during two weeks between the end of June 2007 and the beginning of July 2007: the guide of Willis's Walkabout was able to lead our group with great skill in a national park where even regular footpaths lack! Rock hopping and walks through grasses were usual ways to proceed, but it proved to be amazingly easy after a short while, provided that you have a passable degree of fitness, but you can allow for the fact that even a 74-year-old man succeeded in carrying out the tour (I was 39-years old) ... I have been on 2 trips with Russell Willis and both have been sensational. The first to Koolpin/Freezing section of Kakadu NP in the wet season, and the second to the Graveside area with my children. Both trips were fantastic - incredible places, great swimming, aboriginal art, birds and other wildlife, and great guides ... Read More

We are two of Russell's repeat walkers; we have now done13 trips with Willis's. When you are on to a good thing!! Our last trip in May 2008 was excellent like all the others. Willis's now have a data base of the best walks, camping sites, waterholes and aboriginal art sites, and the walks are well organised and enjoyable ... Read More
