During peak season and days of high demand, Spirit of Tasmania also operates day sailings, departing from each port at 9.00am and arriving the same day at 6.00pm.

Passengers can choose from a variety of accommodation options ranging from Deluxe Cabins to Ocean Recliners. There are also plenty of dining and entertainment options available on board.

Vehicles including those with trailers, caravans, bikes and motorhomes can be accommodated on board. Plus, kennels can be booked so pets can come along too.

Experience the allure of sea travel. Its fun, relaxing and stress-free. Simply drive on board for a holiday where half the fun is getting there. Embrace the ocean views, stroll the decks and breathe in the sea breeze - theres nothing quite like it!

We completed our first trip on the Spirit of Tassie II last Friday 13 Jan 12 - a day voyage. In a word - boring and expensive. As has been mentioned here, these ships are really night ferries and there is not much to do or see on a day voyage of at least 10 hours duration ... Read More (Date of experience: Jan, 2012 )

Being our third trip to Tasmania, we opted for a day sailing return to Melbourne. Two restaurants to cater for your needs. Both offer great meals. The smorgasbord one is great value for your money with plenty of variety in its menu ... Read More (Date of experience: Jan, 2010 )

We have travelled to Tasmania seven times over the last few years, five times have been on the Spirit. We definitely include this trip as part of our holiday. We love travelling on the Spirit. We have worked out what we don't like (sitting up overnight) and what we really love about the trip ... Read More

I booked & paid for a twin porthole cabin. These show on the site, twin beds with a porthole between through which you see the sea. All twin porthole cabins are like this. And they are expensive. This was a special weekend only expensive trip for me and my son who had just graduated after 6 years study and is working untold hours ... Read More
