The SS Yongala is one of the worlds great wreck dives. The SS Yongala shipwreck is a national historic site that lies within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, near Townsville. It sank in 1911 with the loss of all 121 lives on board. The wreck begins at 14m below the surface and sits on a sandy bottom at 28m. The artefacts, marine life and variety of corals that cover the wreck are spectacular. During the winter months, migrating humpback whales can be seen on our journey to and from the wreck, and occasionally underwater at the wreck site.

Wheeler Reef is rated as one of the premier outer reef dive sites in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This reef has many shallow areas well suited to snorkelling and introductory diving, as well as deep bommies and swim-throughs for the experienced diver. Dive sites such as Shark Alley and Student Bommie offer diverse corals & marine life, including giant trevally & pygmy manta rays.
