Australian Academy of Martial Arts

The Australian Academy of Martial Arts is one of the Major Karate schools operating in South East Queensland, teaching both Traditional (Shito Ryu) and modern sports (non-contact) Karate-Do.

The Adults and Childrens programmes have been developed over the years to include ethics and discipline of Martial Arts, Self Defence techniques, and all the specific skills that are necessary to follow or participate in the sport of Karate-Do.

For Children, Karate usually has a 'leveling effect' on a child's nature. I.E. An aggressive child will become more tolerant, yet still retain their great spirit, whereas a very subdued child will become more self-protective and outgoing. Possibly, and more importantly, each child develops an understanding of children with opposite natures to themselves, and thus can handle them appropriately with confidence.
