The Carrington has a long and rich history spanning almost a century and a quarter since her establishment in 1880 by Sydney hotelier Harry Rowell. Opened in 1882 as The Great Western, this Grand Old Lady soon became a popular mountain retreat for international visitors, the elite of Sydney and those eager to see the natural wonders of The Blue mountains.

The Carrington reopened her doors in December, 1998 after eight years of restoration, and works are continuing on the restoration of the gardens, garages, stables, and powerhouse.

What a stunning hotel, my hubby and I stayed for 4 nights and found the hotel simply stunning. Service was fantastic, and the charm oozed out of the hotel - the rooms were generous size - would recommend the Premier Rooms and the Dining Room for Dinner - food was beautifully presented and was devine ...
