Special Features: Our English shepherds hut is a very special hideaway! Curl up on the daybed and watch the garden grow. Read a book, write a poem, and pen a postcard! Keep warm with a bottle of Yarra Valley Red and a platter by candlelight. A cozy escape in winter or a delightful summerhouse during the warmer weather! Shepherds huts were designed to be home to the shepherd who could not afford to leave his flock for long. A warm place to nurture a sick baby lamb. These days, our shepherds Hut offers our guests a special vantage to enjoy the garden in all seasons. A beautiful daybed and fire add to the romantic ambience Designed and built by Robert at Folly Farm with traditional workmanship including amazing forged wheels made by a local blacksmith. After explore Folly Farms Edna Walling designed gardens, check out how the blueberry crop is progressing or wander down to the chestnut plantation and see Melbourne far below.
Facilities: Separate disabled access bathroom is also available. The large bathroom offers a stepless shower base, safety anti-slip floor coverings, hand held shower, wheel chair accessible toilet, grab rails for shower & toilet, portable shower seat, lever taps, heated towel rail, hair dryer. All meet Australian standards. Access to the cottage is via a ramp. Folly Farm is now pet friendly. Your family dog who is house trained is very welcome and may sleep inside! The cottage veranda has a gate for your dog to sit and watch the world go by! The Dandenong Ranges is perfect for a break with your dog. There are beautiful walks for you all to enjoy. Lots of cafes and restaurants where you can sit out side with your pet. Please call and ask about pet stays!

I found Folly Farm to be very quiet and relaxing. The hosts Belinda and Robert gave us a warm welcome and we will look forward to returning to explore some more. The Edna Walling Gardens were a picture, and we were in time to pick the last of the blueberries for the season ... Read More
