Special Events: WINTERSUN FESTIVAL - The Wintersun Festival is over. However all is not lost - Southern Gold Coast Tourism have committed to a new bigger and better festival in 2011 offering many more events and more reasonable accommodation prices. The event will run between the 3rd and 13th June 2011. Plus discussions are underway to build a strategic partnership with Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competitions, under their agreement with Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc.; which if successful will add a new and exciting dimension to the festival in 2011! Events will take place in the usual places and at Jack Evans Boat Harbour making this a more family friendly festival. So more rockers will join the locals promising to make it bigger and better. Special Events: KIRRA KITE FESTIVAL - a free outdoor event celebrating multiculturalism, wind sports and local cuisine with the ocean as the backdrop. Festivities include street performers, circus acts, chalk art, live music, camel rides, kite making workshops, market stalls, pyrotechnic sky diving and kite flying.
