Local Area
Savour the attractions of one of Australia's finest holiday destinations during your stay at a Wollongong City Tourist Park - strategically located at Bulli, Corrimal and Windang. Guests at these idyllic beachfront locations can enjoy the region's unspoilt beaches with tidal rock pools, and endless possibilities for fun, relaxation and recreation. Wollongong is NSWs 3rd largest city and offers an exhilarating mix of metropolitan style, seaside living and the great outdoors. It is located 80km south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip by the Pacific Ocean in the east and the magnificent Illawarra Escarpment in the west; it is bordered by the Royal National Park to the north and Lake Illawarra to the south.
Things to do
For information, itineraries and maps see the Visit Wollongong website, or drop in at the Southern Gateway Centre and speak with visitor services. We recommend that you travel along the Grand Pacific Drive, including the over-the-ocean Sea Cliff Bridge; experience native animals at Symbio Wildlife Gardens; dare to tandem hang glide or para glide at Bald Hill or Skydive the Beach at Stuart Park; visit the Nan Tien Temple; stroll through Wollongong Botanic Gardens; experience Australia's Industry World or Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk; splash out at Jamberoo Action Park; test your skills at one of Wollongong's professional golf courses; sample local beers at the Five Islands Brewery; indulge in an array of cuisines; or simply enjoy the views. Moreover, many of the city's attractions can be accessed via the coastal walking/cycle way from Corrimal Beach Tourist Park for example, Wollongong Harbour, the Science Centre & Planetarium, and city entertainment and shopping.
