Libraries, galleries, exhibitions and research collections - there's a great deal to see at the Australian National University, founded in 1946.
The Drill Hall Gallery and the Canberra School of Art, both on the ANU campus, have changing exhibitions.
The Classics Museum has a fine collection that takes you back to Ancient Greece and Rome and the Prehistory Museum chronicles the earliest days of humanity in Australia and the Pacific.
The oldest building on campus is Old Canberra House, built in 1913. It currently houses the Humanities Research Centre and Centre for Cross Cultural Research.
The University Information Office in Balmain Crescent will provide you with a self-guided tour map, so make that your starting point.
