The Forest EcoCentre is a unique, ecologically sustainable building that is the first of its type in the southern Hemisphere. Designed by award-winning Hobart architect Robert Morris-Nunn, this elegant 'building within a building' is expected to save 80% in energy costs compared to a conventional building.

Forest EcoCentre showcases many aspects of North East's forest including their ecology, management, unique fauna and cultural heritage. Visitors to the Forest EcoCentre can also take the time to enjoy the North East's famous produce. The centre contains a cafe seating up to 48 people, serving meals, snacks, and a quality selection of wines from the Pipers River and Tamar Valley regions.
