Ararat Gallery

Ararat Gallery provides a program of temporary exhibitions, public programs and associated events. The strength of Ararat Gallery's permanent collection is contemporary fibre and textile art, a focus that has been followed since 1974. Ararat Gallery holds one of only two major contemporary fibre and textile collections in regional galleries in Australia.

Through its exhibition program, the Gallery aims to show a selection of works from the permanent collection, although this may not always be possible. Significant acquisitions in recent years have encouraged the profile of textiles as a fine-art form.

Artists represented in the collection include Elsje van Keppel, Bronwyn Oliver, Sarah Crowest, Richard Goodwin, Kay Lawrence, Tass Mavrogordato, Pamela Gaunt, Geraldine Burrowes and Juan Davila.
