The Hoochery is Western Australia's only licensed distillery.

Owner, developer and farmer Raymond 'Spike' Dessert realised a dream in creating Western Australia's first and only licensed distillery in the Kimberley region he loves. The distillery is built on his farm in the heart of Kununurra.

The Hoochery is a small pot distillery currently producing over 1000 bottles a week of 80 per cent proof sugar cane spirit. It uses locally grown produce in its products. Here you will also find a traditional old Country and Western Saloon bar built from local timber with artefacts dating well back.

Special Features: Tours of the distillery are AUD4 for adults and children are free, you will receive a AUD2 discount on any purchase of our alcoholic products. Tea, coffee and cake are available at our cafe. There is a children's corner to distract the children while Mum and Dad are relaxing.

The Hoochery produces... hooch. This is a small operational distillery taking advantage of the sugar cane grown in the area. I can certainly recommend a short side trip out of town to sample their products ... Read More (Date of experience: Aug, 2009 )
