Situated just south of Dwellingup, Lane Poole is a major reserve situated on both banks of the Murray River.
Running through an ancient valley of the Darling Scarp, the Murray River is the largest un-dammed river in the Darling Range and is popular with rafting and canoeing devotees.
The river forms a series of rapids, small waterfalls and deep still pools. In winter it can be a raging torrent, and in summer a limpid stream to swim, canoe or fish in. Facilities include BBQ and picnic areas, shaded areas, and car parks.
There are several walk trails in the reserve, including Western Australia's award-winning, long distance walk trail, the Bibbulmun Track, stretching nearly 1000 kilometres from Perth Hills to Albany.
