Visit one of Canberra's earliest historic sites with an 1830's rural workers' cottage and an environmental education centre. Take a guided tour, the exhibitions and see how the cottage has been ingeniously adopted and extended over time.
Mugga-Mugga is Canberra's best kept secret. It is a testament to the lives of the families who worked on the Limestone Plain's great pastoral estates. Set on seventeen hectares of grazing land its centrepiece is a simple cottage built for the head shepherd of Duntroon in the 1830s. The small stone cottage has been conserved and furnished with household items that belonged to the Curley family who moved to Mugga-Mugga from Duntroon in 1913.
Mugga-Mugga is one of Canberra's earliest historic sites. The modern education centre is ideal for meetings and seminars. From here, the view across Canberra is breathtaking! The site offer a number of elegant and unusual function areas for hire for private ceremonies, photographic sessions, conferences, meetings, receptions, performances, classes, lectures or a great party!
